Physically Speaking - Teen Drivers Should Be The Very Best - Statistically - They Aren't - Why?
Generally speaking in terms of a physically fit teenager they are limber, muscles are strong and flexible, reflexes are quick. This combination should help a teen driver to be quite good at driving a car. Think again!
The teenagers number one cause of death is car crashes in the US. So, what's up with that? Some scientists think it's the maturity of the brain in the area that inhibits risky behavior. It was thought that this area of the brian was mature at 18, but a study by UCLA and the National Institute of Mental Health shows that "the region of the brain that inhibits risky behavior does not mature as quickly as previously thought". Now they are thinking it may not be fully formed until the age of 25.
"We'd thought the highest levels of physical and brain maturity were reached by age 18, maybe earlier -- so this threw us," said Jay Giedd, a pediatric psychiatrist leading the study, which released its first results in April. That makes adolescence "a dangerous time, when it should be the best."
A driving-style test study from Temple University was used to show that "young people consistently take greater risks when their friends are watching".
Other studies indicate supporting evidence that the judgment of teenagers further deteriorates with distractions.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety teens are four times as likely as older adult drivers to be involved in a crash and three times as likely to die in one.
Lets hope the studies and scientists keep going and help us to figure out the way to save more young lives. Perhaps armed with more proof from studies the driving age will be increased to 25 years of age.

How to Compare Car Insurance Rates to Get the Best
Insurance rates for the same coverage can vary by hundreds of dollars from one company to another. But you can easily compare car insurance rates so you know you're getting the best price. Here's how ...
Find the Best Rates on the Internet
By visiting an insurance comparison website, you can quickly and easily get rate quotes from numerous A-rated car insurance companies. On the best comparison websites, you can even talk with insurance professionals online or by phone and get answers to all your car insurance questions. (See link below.)
When you visit an insurance comparison website, you type in your vehicle and driving information on one form. You then receive fast quotes from a variety of companies.
Best Rate With the Best Company
Once you have your quotes, you need to choose an auto insurance company. How do you make your choice? By looking at factors such as cost, reliability, and service. The best rate for your car insurance is not necessarily going to be the best deal. Some ways to check on the service record of insurance companies include the following:
* Check each company’s website. Is it informative and helpful?
* Find out if the company offers an "800" number you can call if you have any questions or problems. Also find out if there is a local agent who can help you.
* Evaluate each company’s payment policies. Do they offer payment plans with no penalties? Do they offer online payment options? What are the penalties for late payments?
* Check your state’s Department of Insurance website to see how many complaints have been lodged against each insurance company.
* Check the ratings for each insurance company with J.D. Power and Associates (jdpower.com), A.M. Best (ambest.com), or Standard & Poors (standardandpoors.com).
By taking these extra steps, you'll know that you're not only getting the best rate for your car insurance, but you're also choosing the best car insurance company.

Mexican Auto Insurance - Why You Need It
Unfortunately. too many of the U.S. drivers in Mexico put off the purchase of Mexican auto insurance. They do not see why they would need it. They do not feel that they lack the ability to avoid an accident while driving in Mexico. Insurance appears to them like an unneeded expense.
Such drivers fail to realize that Mexican law differs markedly from U.S. law. In the United States, a driver involved in an automobile accident is not held responsible for that accident while at the scene of the accident. In the U.S., a person receives a presumption of innocence, until he or she can be proven guilty. Mexican auto insurance is needed in Mexico because the reverse is true; a driver involved in an accident is considered guilty of causing that accident, until he or she can be proven innocent.
In the United States, the authorities who arrive at the scene of an accident do not have the ability to prosecute any of the drivers involved in that accident. Sometimes, a driver can be given an alcohol breath test. If the test were to yield a positive result, then that driver could be charged with a crime.
In Mexico the law gives the law enforcement officers greater authority at the scene of a car accident. Those officers can hold each person involved in the accident responsible for the resulting damages. Each driver must exhibit proof of the ability to cover those damages. Auto insurance in Mexico can protect you from being detained.
If a driver can not demonstrate the ability to access enough money to cover the accident damages, then that driver can be hit with a steep fine. If authorities do not issue a fine, then they have a right to demand that the driver be jailed for a short time. Either of those fates can be avoided through purchase of Mexican auto insurance.
If the reader now sees the need for Mexican insurance, that reader probably wants to know the easiest way to obtain it. Does someone have to drive into Mexico in order to purchase Mexican insurance?
The answer is “no.” Several U.S. companies have been licensed to sell Mexican auto insurance in the U.S. Such companies provide drivers with a way to obtain insurance before venturing south of the Rio Grande River. Those companies allow drivers to secure insurance for their vehicles well before actually driving into Mexico.

Are Car Insurance Multiple Quotes Important
Do you wonder if it is important at all to compare car insurance quotes? Have you ever taken the easy way out and decided to go with the first company you found? I know I have, but here are 3 reasons why you should use car insurance multiple quotes.
First, you need to test each company’s customer service. When you get car insurance quotes, you should take your time and see how good the customer service of each insurance company is. This is important because if you ever get into an accident you are going to want quick and efficient customer service.
Second, you could be saving hundreds of dollars every year. Now a few hundred dollars of a period of a year is not going to make you rich or anything like that, but if invested at a modest interest rate you could have your retirement just from your car insurance savings. After 30 years $100 invested at a modest rate can be well over $100,000.
Last, you need to know what you are getting for your money. You need to know that if you are going to pay a little more than another company wants you to pay, then you are getting something for that money. You may be paying a little extra for a company that will let you use any auto mechanic you want or has a lower deductible for you.
Now you have three good reasons to get car insurance multiple quotes. This is just the beginning and there are plenty of reasons to compare car insurance companies. The right deal is out there for you and you will only find it by shopping around

Car Insurance Guide - How To Select The Appropriate Insurance Cover
Auto insurance is a must by law for owning and driving a car. The cheap auto insurance can be found by using this car insurance guide. Car Insurance can be understood in simple terms as follows: Pay a premium every year to the insurance company. When an accident happens involving you car, the company will reimburse the same on your behalf to the affected party.
We will be focusing on online auto insurance in this car insurance guide. But it will also mention other type of auto insurance. If you search for "car insurance" online you will receive many results. Websites that compare a number of insurance companies will be the most useful for your research. With a number of different companies' quotes, you will be able to find the lowest rates.
Be sure, however, that you go with a known company. Smaller companies pop up all over, but many of them have poor service. Service is quite important in car insurance, especially when you are waiting for an estimate or check for car repairs. You'll also want agents available to answer your questions as you choose the insurance that is best for you.
Although it is not the focus of this car insurance guide, offline insurance works well from some people. There are companies that act as brokers for many different insurance companies. These groups can help you compare different insurance policies and assist you with the choosing process. Some people prefer this method because they get to speak with a live person, instead of just typing in information over the internet. Individual insurance companies also have their own storefronts where you can meet with an agent and discuss that particular company.
The car insurance guide will not be complete if it does not give information about choosing a policy, as this job can be very confusing. Liability insurance is the least you require in some states. Under this the insurance company pays for other person's repair if you met an accident with your fault.
If you purchase a car by means of making monthly car payments, your car is financed. You are usually required to have comprehensive insurance to finance your car, and the insurance covers the repair costs for accidents, even if it is your fault.
You can purchase many other types of insurance to put on your policy. Some policies pay your repair costs if the other driver isn't insured and the accident is your fault like "Underinsured motorist" insurance while other policies cover roadside assistance, medical care, and much more.
Your deductible is a key component of your insurance policy. The deductible is the amount you pay to fix your car when an accident is your fault. Higher deductibles mean more out of pocket costs to you in the event of an accident, but they also mean cheaper premiums.

Get Cheap Car Insurance in Memphis, Tennessee
Memphis, Tennessee is famous for being home to Graceland, the house Elvis Presley lived in. Not only did Elvis love the grandeur of his ample estate he, like many residents of this state, loved nice cars. Although most people who reside in Memphis don’t have unlimited financial resources like Elvis, they do need car insurance. Finding cheap car insurance in Memphis, Tennessee just takes some research and a little insight into what insurance companies are looking for.
Car theft is a problem that plagues every major city in the country and Memphis, Tennessee is no different. On average, close to 8,000 vehicles each year are stolen. Some cars and trucks are simply more appealing to thieves and if you happen to drive one, you can expect that fact to be reflected in your car insurance rates. A good rule of thumb for everyone to follow is to inquire about probable insurance rates before buying a new vehicle. If you find out that the monthly premiums are as much as your car loan payments would be, you may want to rethink the type of vehicle you’ll be driving in the future.
Having more than one car on a policy can yield a cheaper insurance rate as well. If you and your roommate or partner each has a car and you are using different insurers, ask each of the companies for a quote to insure both vehicles. You’ll likely be pleasantly surprised by the cheaper car insurance rates and you can split the savings between the two of you. This also works well for adult children who are still living at home with their parents, and even young adults who are old enough to drive and living with a grandparent or aunt or uncle. Each insurance company differs regarding this type of combined policy but it’s certainly worth the trouble to inquire about it.

Driving in Mexico
On Thursday May 17, 2007, anyone intent on driving in Mexico was well-served by possession of an air conditioned vehicle. On that day the temperature in Mexico City was expected to reach 81 degrees Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, those driving in Mexico at spots away from the Capital could not hope for any relief from the obvious sign that summer was only weeks away.
A weather map displayed that morning by a TV network in Los Angeles seemed to glow with a fiery red. That was the color of all of Mexico on that map. The station obviously wanted to notify any residents of Los Angeles County who, for reasons of business or pleasure, might be driving in Mexico on that day.
The televised map left no doubt about the advisability of securing, at least on that day, an air conditioned vehicle, before setting out for any destination inside Mexico. On that day all of Mexico would be hot. It wouldn’t matter whether you were driving in Mexico to get to a beach on the Pacific Coast or a port on the Gulf Coast. Either trip would be uncomfortable, if taken in a vehicle that lacked air conditioning.
Thursday’s report illustrated the desire among U.S. residents living near the U.S.-Mexico border for information about driving in Mexico. No doubt some who sought that information hoped to drive to Mexico City; maybe others considered driving down the Baja Peninsula. On that day, tourists at all those locations would need to carry bottled water, if they wanted to avoid possible problems with dehydration.
Yet weather conditions represent only one of the factors that should concern anyone who will be driving in Mexico. Anyone who plans to drive a motored vehicle down more than 20 miles south of the U.S.-Mexico border should become well-acquainted with certain Mexican laws. The decision to drive a car in Mexico should be followed by an examination of the Mexican legal codes, as they relate to ownership of and operation of a car, a pick-up truck or other four-wheeled vehicle.
Suppose, for example, you want to hook your car to a trailer, and then take your family down to a beach in Mexico. If that is the case, then you must make your intentions clear, when you purchase Mexican travel insurance.(You are planning to get such insurance, aren’t you?) The anticipated hauling of a trailer must be stated clearly in the insurance policy.
Failure to add those facts to the insurance policy could cause trouble during a planned family vacation. Parents should act so as to avoid such a situation. After all, no parent would want their children to have bad memories of the time when either parent had been driving in Mexico.

Auto Insurance - What Factors Effect Your Rates?
Car insurance is something that we all need - if we drive a car. While having car insurance may not be an option, just how much we pay for it is. There are a number of things that can make those numbers add up, while other factors will tend to bring those numbers down. Here are some of those things.
Factors About You
This is probably the greatest factor about you that will set the rates. Car insurers tend to think that a male that is 25 or less is prone to be less careful than a female driver of the same age. This means that a young man will pay more for the same coverage on the same car than a girl would that is just as old. When you get married, though, you will usually see a drop in your insurance rates - guess that means you should be more responsible - and careful – even if you still are less than 25.
Another thing is whether you have had a driver's training course or not. If you have had formal instruction, you can tell your insurance agent, and that should result in a small discount. And then there is the matter of your driving record. If you have traffic violations, or a past accident (or two) within the last three years, your rates will be raised accordingly. If you have enough of these, insurance companies will not insure you.
Your job can also effect your insurance rates. If you drive a lot of miles every year, it increases the likelihood of an accident, which means higher rates.
The Car
The car itself is also a main consideration as to what your auto insurance rates will be. This is based on risk to the insurer. A more expensive car means that an insurer may lose more money - so they charge you more for it. Obviously, your insurance rates on a Ferrari will be higher than on most other cars. Also, a brand new car right off the dealer's lot will be more than a car that is one year old. Some models of cars are the most likely to be stolen. These cars are reported regularly online every year, and if you want lower rates the stay away from these hot cars.
Having certain safety features on your car can reduce your rates, too. If you live in an urban area, things like steering wheel locks, car alarms, and other features will lower your rates.
The Neighborhood
Where you live is another main consideration. For instance, those living in an urban area will find their car insurance rates to be much higher than those who live in a rural area. This could be a difference of over 230% - depending on which city, and in what neighborhood in that city you live. With more traffic comes a greater likelihood of getting into an accident. Theft is also another concern.
The Policy
The policy itself, and what you choose in the way of options and coverage, will also effect the price of your insurance payments. You can reduce your car insurance costs by increasing the deductible, and possibly by eliminating some of the other options you probably will never use. Make sure, though, that if you increase the deductible, that you can afford it. If you were to have an accident, it will be necessary to pay the deductible before the insurer will do their part.

How To Get A Car Insurance Quote Online
When you need a car insurance quote online you need to supply the correct information so that you can receive a quote that comes close to what you need. Some people feel uncomfortable supplying this information, but unless you do, your quote might not be as accurate for you to compare to other car insurance quotes online. The car insurance company attracts your attention by providing this service online to potential customers.
If you receive a car insurance quote online from many different insurance companies, you can compare and find savings that help lower the cost of your insurance premium. The car insurance company offers different coverage plans and discounts. The online websites can explain the different plans and discounts, which allows you to choose the best one to cover your needs. Some things to look at while visiting a car insurance company online would be the liability coverage, bodily injury coverage and the medical, collision and comprehensive coverage.
A car insurance quote online still requires you to talk to an agent in order to verify your information and check your driving record and credit history. If you have forgotten anything, it will turn up and add cost to your car insurance quote. If you have included something that the insurance company does not include this could lower your quote. Most car insurance companies will then offer more discounts after finding out about safety features, driving classes taken and prior insurance coverage you have or had.

Automobile Insurance Quotes - Your Ticket To Massive Savings
If you want to make the most remarkable savings in your automobile insurance, you'll have to understand insurance quotes and comparison sites and how to use them to make informed choices. If you don't, you'll be flushing a lot of cash down the drains. This article, hopefully, will give more insight into car insurance savings through automobile insurance quotes sites.
What you need to understand is that no automobile insurance quotes site returns quotes from every insurance company out there. What does this mean?
It means that you could easily miss an insurer that offers a comparable plan for much less. I once saw a difference of over $2200. Now, that's massive! However, it could have been much less if I hadn't seen quotes from a particular company.
You'll have to make sure you go all out and get quotes from as many of these auto insurance quotes sites as possible. Remember, the quotes are always free. Furthermore, all it will take you is just around 3 minutes for each quotes site. And for each quotes site, you'll get anywhere between 5 and 12 quotes from different insurance companies.
Don't make the mistake a lot of folks make. They just go to one automobile insurance quotes site and think they've made all the savings possible. While it's possible if you're extremely lucky, the probability is rather very low. Get your free, no obligation automobile insurance quotes from as many of such sites as possible. Remember, you could save up to $1000 for a few minutes' work.

Cheap Automobile Insurance - When To Grab It- When To Run
I write a lot about cheap automobile insurance. I teach people how to make the most remarkable savings in car insurance. However, I caution that the lowest price doesn't mean you've made the most savings. Here's why...
Everything has its reason. This is especially true about automobile insurance. It is meant to provide you a certain level of coverage. If you get the best coverage at very low cost, that's fine and great. Grab it! However, if in your bid to get the lowest premium you compromise your cover, you've not really saved anything.
Yes, this may not be very obvious. But let's say in your bid to make the most savings, you did not take into account the quality of service an insurer is capable of giving. Let's also say you ignored certain features that were obviously absent from your insurance package. You were simply satisfied that it gave you the minimum required by law.
As long as nothing happens, you're fine and well. But unfortunately, stuff does happen to good people, you know. Then you rush to your insurance company and then the cold reality dawns on you -- You weren't well-covered. I hope this never happens to you.
But since you'll still want to get relatively cheap automobile insurance (best price/value), here's how...
First, make sure you have decided on the coverage that suits you best. Then and only then, should you look for where you'll get the best deal. You'll get them on car insurance quotes sites.

Free Car Insurance Quotes - These Can Save You Up T0 $2000
I once visited one of these free insurance quotes sites and was shocked to discover that the difference in rates for a comparable policy between two insurance companies was as high as $2000. Please, that was not a typo. The question that quickly came to my mind was: "How would those guys who pay $2000 more for a similar service feel if they found out how much they are flushing down the drain?" I'll show you how to ensure you're not paying too much.
If all you did was visit just one free car insurance quotes and comparison site, you're most likely still leaving some money on the table. It probably won't be as much as $2000 but it could still be a very substantial amount. Here's why...
Believe it or not, there are interests that are represented in every business you see. The same goes for these car insurance quotes sites. All of them do not return quotes from all insurers because they either have no relationship with such insurers or do not see such a relationship as profitable to them. Some quotes sites are also set up by some insurance companies or their close allies and you understand they are not likely to include competitors with better price value. This is subject to debate. However, just pretend it's true for your own good.
Visit at least two of these free car insurance quotes sites (I recommend up to five) and get their quotes. Most will return quotes from up to five different companies. Some will give you just a quote.
Now you have a broader database for your comparison. This way, you will get quotes from insurance companies not covered by the other. The main point here is that you'll increase your likelihood of saving much more just by doing this. By getting quotes from more insurance companies, you uncover those who will give you the best price/value.

Cut Your Car Insurance Cost in Half
Want to know how to cut your car insurance cost in half? Here's a simple, five-step method that will get you big discounts on your car insurance.
1. Comparison Shop
Premiums for the same car insurance can vary as much as $1,000 or more between companies, so the first place to start saving money on your insurance is to comparison shop.
There are a number of insurance comparison websites where you can get auto insurance quotes from different companies. Get at least three quotes, compare costs, then choose the company with the best rate.
Some of the better sites let you talk to an insurance professional through an online chat service or a toll-free telephone service so you can get answers to your car insurance questions. (See link below.)
2. Raise Your Deductible
Raising your deductible - the amount you pay on a claim before your insurance company pays - can save you 15% to 30% on you premium. It will also prevent you from filing too many claims which can cause an insurance company to cancel your insurance.
3. Drop Your Collision and Comprehensive Coverage
Collision coverage pays for repairs to your car caused by an accident with another car or an object. Comprehensive coverage pays for damage to you car from theft, vandalism, fire, hail, and other causes.
If you drive an older car that's worth less than the cost of your insurance plus the deductible, it's probably not worth having comprehensive and collision coverage. Dropping your collision and comprehensive coverage can save you 15% to 30%.
4. Bundle Your Insurance
Insuring both your car and your home with the same company can save you 10% to 15% on your total premium. A side benefit is that you'll only have one company and one agent to deal with.
5. Request Discounts
Insurance companies offer a variety of discounts - low mileage discounts, safety and security features discounts, safe driver discounts, etc. Before you purchase a car insurance policy, always ask for all the discounts that are available and take advantage of them.

How Insurance Fraud Affects You
If you have tried to renew your home or car insurance recently you may well have noticed insurance premiums starting to increase. One of the main contributing factors in this increase is a rise in fraudulent insurance claims.
Fraudulent claims are made mostly on home and car insurance policies and according to the Association of British Insurers false claims cost UK insurance companies some £1.6billion a year.
So how does this affect you? While insurance companies have indicated a commitment to tackling the issue the fact remains that the problem costs them around £4million a day. This loss has to be recouped in some way and in many instances is passed onto the consumer. You are effectively paying for the fraudulent actions of other people; on average the impact of fraudulent claims adds around £40 onto your insurance premiums.
When it comes to car insurance you are effectively being hit with a double whammy. Not only are you paying for other peoples fraudulent activities but you are also paying to cover the UK's growing number of uninsured drivers.
With these two factors forcing up the cost of car insurance it is no surprise that some people are noticing a rise in their premiums. These price increases are commonly found in the renewal letter sent by your insurance company.
However, rather than simply accept the increase you have the option to act and switch you car insurance to another provider. The car insurance market is fiercely competitive with companies eager to increase their customer base. You, the customer, can use this to your advantage

Car Insurance Savings Tip - 2
You can do a few things that will go a long way in reducing how much you pay as your car insurance premium. In this article I'll dwell on one that has to do with your car's age, current value and fair market value at the point of making a claim.
If you have an old car (This does not refer to classics -- Just plain old cars) then make sure you do not take either a collision or comprehensive cover for it. It won't be worth it one bit. Here's why...
Like all things in insurance, your premium is calculated based on the value of your car at the time of purchase. However, if you file a claim, your compensation will be based on its fair market value. Furthermore, cars have groupings that determine how much you'll be billed as premium. So let's say your car was worth $20,000 at the time of purchase. If by the time you file a claim its fair market value is $3,000, that, and not the purchase value will be the basis of calculating your compensation.
And, if your car unfortunately belongs to a grouping of cars that are very expensive to insure, your premium will shoot through the roof. You guessed right: Your compensation if you file a claim will still be based on its current market value.
If you decide to lower your premium by increasing your deductible (That is the amount you must pay before an insurance company pays its part), then you'll end up paying a high deductible thereby further lowering what your insurance company will compensate you.
So who gains in this scenario? It’s certainly not you but your car insurance company. Am I trying to run down insurance companies? NO! This is standard practice. However, I an ensuring you understand where your bread is better buttered.

Car Insurance - How Your Occupation Affects You
Believe it or not, your occupation can save you a lot in car insurance premium. On the other hand, it could also cost you so much. I'll give examples from opposite ends of the spectrum and explain why this is so. Finally I will show you how you can make considerable savings even if your occupation is at the undesirable end of the spectrum.
Scientist pay the lowest car insurance rates. They pay as low as $870 on the average. Retired persons pay slightly more at an average of $920. Pilots and navigators also belong to the low car insurance rates bracket.
For those in the high car insurance brackets, you have the business owner as the most expensive to insure. They average around $1400 in car insurance premiums. Following closely is the executive with an average of $1,375. Attorneys, lawyers and judges average $1370.
These are the opposite extremes (Don't worry if you fall into the expensive occupations. I'll show you how to lower your rates considerably). Back to what we were saying...
Occupations that attract low car insurance rates have some or all of the following in common...
1) They are usually low stress occupations.
2) The safety of others is paramount in their training. Sometimes their driving records can even determine if they'll be allowed to practice at all.
3) Their occupation often makes them use public transport systems.
4) A number of them are generally considered to be very meticulous. This certainly affects their driving habits.
On the other hand, occupations that are expensive to insure have the following in common...
1) Their jobs are usually very stressful.
2) They often have to spend more time in their cars.
3) They tend to use their cell phones a lot more while driving than the average driver.
If you look at the different categories, it will become very obvious why certain occupations are expensive to insure while others aren't.

How to Compare Low Cost Car Insurance in Washington
Comparison shopping is something most of us do on a daily basis. Whether we’re looking for a deal on a certain grocery item or we shop around for a jacket, we’re in search of the best bargain for our dollar. The same should happen when it comes to car insurance shopping. With over sixty different auto insurance companies headquartered in Washington State, the residents can certainly do more than just a little price checking.
Getting car insurance quotes can be an uncomfortable undertaking. Not only are you expected to hand over some personal information to an insurance agent, but in most cases you’ve got to give them your contact information as well. For anyone who has gone through this process, they can verify that once an agent has your number, he or she is likely to put it to good use trying to contact you to secure a policy with them.
The best and easiest approach is to utilize the free quote function found on many websites. Many of the Washington based auto insurance companies allow you to inquire about a free quote online. Although you’ll still be providing your contact information you can also suggest a time for them to contact you. By the time they do call, they should have an idea of what a policy will cost you based on the information you provided, including your make and model of car, how long you’ve been driving and how much you actually drive the car per month.
Ensure that when you do ask for multiple quotes that you request the same coverage information each time. Policies vary from insurer to insurer but if you know what you need, and you ask for a quote solely based on that, you’ll have a base at which to start your comparisons. Remember that although price is really important, the reliability and reputation of the insurance company matters too.

How to Compare Low Cost Automobile Insurance in Washington
If you live in Washington State you’ve likely heard of the 25/50/10 coverage. This is reflective of the minimum amount of liability coverage you are mandated to have under state law. Most individuals see the value in having more but it comes at a cost. Finding the best insurance at the lowest price possible is the primary goal of any motorist.
Some tips that may prove fruitful when it comes to comparing insurance policies are:
• If a company gives you a quote that is well below any else, do some research. It’s important to check to ensure that the agent and the auto insurance company are licensed to do business in the State of Washington. You don’t want to get involved with a company that is operating illegitimately.
• Stick to your guns when asking for quotes. Many agents are very persuasive and will try and convince you that you need additional coverage. Ask for a quote for a specific amount of coverage from each agent and don’t be swayed.
• Ask about the accident procedure. Some insurance companies that offer low rates don’t offer the much needed support required after an accident. This can be a highly traumatic time for the policy holder, so you’ll want an agent who will be there for you.
• Inquire about having your policy renewed yearly as opposed to every six months. This can help by locking in a lower rate for a longer period of time.
Even though price is almost always the bottom line, the service provided comes a close second when it comes to automobile insurance. When asking for quotes take note of how the agent pays attention to your questions and requests. This can often be a good indicator of the type of service you’ll receive in the future.

Seven Options for Dealing with a Damaged Car After An Auto Accident
In the aftermath of auto accidents vehicle owners are often confused and, in many cases, unaware of all of the options available to them during the settlement of auto insurance claims. Many depend on the insurance company’s adjuster to guide them through the maze of decisions they face.
But, did you ever consider that your insurance company agent or adjuster might not have your best interest at heart when making recommendations about what to do with your damaged car?
Insurance companies are profit driven companies. As such, their agents and adjusters - those you may depend on to be straight with you - are often motivated to answer consumer’s questions with suggestions and strategies that benefit the company first and foremost without concern for losses car owners may experience. Thus, if you depend on your insurance company’s claims staff to give you all of the available options so you can make intelligent decisions on your own, you may be sorely disappointed when you finally realize how much money their advice actually costs you.
In the remainder of this article, you’ll learn seven options, some of which you might never have considered, for dealing with damaged vehicles after they have been crashed. You may:
1) Have all of the accident damage on your car repaired If you take this option make certain you pick a shop capable of delivering safe collision repairs. Avoid going to the insurance company’s direct repair shop unless you know them personally and have seen their work firsthand. Rather, pick a repair shop recommended by someone you know who is very picky about his or her car. Collector car club members almost always have a good eye for spotting high quality auto body repair shops, and many have friends in the business who do show quality paint and body work. You’ll find most of these guys and gals eager to help you make a smart choice.
2) Drive your car in its damaged condition without making any repairs provided you are not violating any laws by driving with inoperable lamps or impaired safety equipment. The insurance money is yours. Spend it as you see fit on your car or on something else. Except in cases where you have a bank loan and the car is serving as collateral, you are under no obligation to have repairs completed, unless, of course, you want to do so.
3) Choose to repair part of the damage but not all of it Again, the same rule applies. Drive your car only if it is safe and use the insurance money as you see fit. Sometimes consumers find it in their best interest to repair the most blatant accident damage, forgoing damage that is less obvious. For example a scratched aluminum wheel may cost $300 or more to replace. If you can live with the scratch you’ll have that money to put toward a new set of tires, college tuition, or something trendier like a collection of glow in the dark Spider-Man memorabilia.
4) Sell or trade your car in its damaged condition If you keep the insurance payments and rid yourself of the damaged vehicle quickly by auctioning it, trading it or selling it outright, with some savvy shopping you’ll probably have enough money to purchase a better car than you had. When you are shopping for a car with cash in hand, you’ll find it is a very favorable buyers market.
5) Donate your car to charity for a tax deduction and spend or invest the insurance proceeds. Most accountants and CPAs are familiar with the guidelines for charitable giving. They may even be able to suggest an industrious church or civic club that would be eager to fix the damage and distribute your gift to a needy family.
6) Sell parts from your car if you have the place to store the vehicle and the skills to dismantle it. But, please don’t put it on blocks in the front yard. Many communities and subdivisions won’t allow these eyesores to take up residence for more than a few days, and you can be sure your neighbors won’t like it either. E-bay and similar auction sites are good places to place your parts advertisements to attract enthusiastic buyers.
7) Put the burden on the insurance company to replace the auto Insurance companies, because of their mammoth size and tremendous buying clout, can often bargain with dealerships to get better deals for consumers than they can get themselves. We see this most often when a one or two year old car has suffered significant damage and its owner doesn’t want it repaired. Insurers will sometimes exert pressure on dealers to drop the price of a slightly newer or better equipped model, allowing a consumer to walk away with a somewhat better car without an increase in the monthly payments they were making. You won’t likely hear an insurer suggesting this option because of the extra work involved. But, if you press them or make it easy for them by locating a car you like, they will sometimes work their magic on the dealership finance guys to get you a deal. In cases where you upgrade to a newer car, you will only responsible to pay the difference in values between the car you had and the one you are getting.

1. Safe driver courses: Take a safe driving course to earn a premium discount. Before you go out and take just any safe driving course, contact your insurance company and ask them for a listing of courses and schools they will accept. Some insurance companies do not recognize or accept all safety courses.
2. Good Credit: Although in the state of Connecticut, the insurance company must notify the consumer if their credit history is used as a factor in determining the car insurance rate. Good credit may earn premium discounts. Insurance companies found that people with good credit generally report fewer claims.
3. Losses: If your driving history is littered with many auto claims, your chances of getting insurance through a standard insurance company decreases and if you are successful in getting insurance, your premiums will reflect the poor claims history in the form of a higher rate.
4. Assigned Risk: If your losses are so severe and you are unable to secure insurance through a standard market, you will have to purchase your insurance through the Connecticut Auto Assigned Risk Plan. For more information regarding the Assigned Risk Plan, contact the Connecticut Department of Insurance.
5. Shop Around: The internet has made is much easier for you to find alternate automobile quotes. Make sure you contact more than one insurance company for alternate quotes before you sign on the dotted line.

How to Save Money and Get Discount Automobile Insurance in Connecticut
Before you can register your car in CT, you must provide proof of insurance by means of an insurance ID card in the name of the vehicle owner(s). Therefore, before you show up to the department of Motor Vehicles, you need to make sure your insurance is in place.
Since it is mandatory to have Insurance, you might as well go about trying to get the best automobile insurance rate as possible. There is no sense in paying more than what you should. Here are a few tips on saving money on your insurance premiums:
1. If you have an older car of low value, you might want to think about getting rid of your comprehensive and/or collision coverage. On a new car, especially those that are financed or leased, the leasing/finance company requires you to carry physical damage coverage. This makes sense because they are part owner of that car until you pay off the remaining balance. However, once you’ve paid the loan off, evaluate your financial situation and the value of your car. If you find that your car’s value is an amount that you may be able to afford to replace or repair without the benefit of an insurance policy, you will definitely save money on your insurance premium if you insure it for liability coverages only. Connecticut requires liability insurance on vehicles. Property damage coverage is not state mandated.
2. If you cannot drop your physical damage coverage, consider increasing the deductibles. The higher the deductible, the less the insurance company will pay on each claim. As a result of reducing the insurance company’s exposure, you will earn a discount on your premium. Before increasing the deductibles, however, make sure that you can afford the per claim out of pocket expense. Additionally, check to see what the actual premium savings will be and make an educated decision as to which deductible is the most cost effective.

How to Find Affordable Car Insurance in Connecticut
Finding affordable car insurance in the state of Connecticut is not a difficult as you may think. The insurance companies do not use a magic formula in rating your policy. The primary information they use is the information you provide about yourself and your vehicle. Your habits and vehicle information will help you to find an affordable rate.
Let’s give you an idea of some of the underwriting information insurance companies use to formulate your car insurance rate:
1. Past driving history: This makes sense. If you have a clean driving record for at least the past 3 years is looked upon favorably and may earn premium discounts.
2. Credit Scores: Most states use your credit history as one of the underwriting basis for your auto policy. In Connecticut, however, according to a proposed bill no 56 introduced by Senator Crisco of the 17th District, insurance companies must inform their policy holders if they use their credit history as part of the rating criteria for automobile and homeowners insurance (this bill was introduced in January Session, 2007). Whether or not your company uses your credit information, maintaining good credit will work to your benefit.
3. Good Grades: If you have a teenager on your policy, good grades will earn a premium discount. Most companies will award a discount to those students who maintain a B or better average. They have found that better students are better driving risks.
4. Age 62+: If you are over the age of 62, take an accident prevention course. Check with your insurer to find out which courses qualify and which schools are on the approved list. Before you actually take the course, find out how much of a discount it will earn.

How to Find The Best Rates on Car Insurance in Connecticut
Connecticut drivers can find the best rate on their car insurance by shopping around. However, prior to calling an insurance agent, be equipped with basic money saving information. Finding the best insurance rate can be as easy as providing the information the insurance companies want.
For example, insurance companies do not want to hear that you are buying an expensive car for your teenaged child. Understanding the mindset of the insurance company may prove to save you a bundle. Here are some tips:
1. More than one policy: If you have more than one line of coverage, insure them with the same company. Insurance companies like to spread risk. What that means is if you have a homeowners policy and an umbrella policy with one carrier, it would make sense to place your automobile policy there too. You will earn a multi-line discount. Ask each insurance company what the discount will be. If you’re in a situation where you have several companies quoting your insurance and the premiums are pretty much the same, the one willing to offer the largest multi-line discount may be the one to insure your autos.
2. People: No matter how much we like to do things on the internet, insurance is still a people business. Call and talk to your agent. One phone conversation may be enough to find out that because you are an ex military person, you are entitled to a discount. Or, because you are a member of a National Teaching Association, you may be entitled to yet a different discount. You would never know if you didn’t speak to a person.
3. Vehicle Safety Features: The newer cars are equipped with anti lock brakes, air bags, and automatic seat belts. Find out how much these are worth in premium savings before you purchase a car. If you were pondering whether or not to purchase the current model car or the older one without these features, one call to your agent may help you to decide.

Go Green And Save Pounds
Going green with your motor not only protects the environment, but now it can help drive down costs - especially when it comes to car insurance.
More and more drivers are avoiding big gas-guzzlers in favour of buying eco-cars, which are powered by a combination of combustion engine and battery powered electric motors.
If enough people continue to make the environment a priority when shopping for a car, then we may be able to reduce the worrying amount of carbon emissions coming from our roads. The idea is definitely catching on - the number of hybrid cars registered in the UK rose by 74% from 2004 to 2005 and numbers are growing every month.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has worked out that if everyone switched to the most efficient car in the same class, emissions from cars would fall by 30%.
Several exciting new environmentally-friendly models are now pushing the boundaries in green technology, ranging from the Saab Estate 2.0 T BioPower, to the hybrid Lexus, the Toyota Prius, and the electronic version of the Smart car.
There are now so many choices of eco-car available that the Eden Project has just finished (April 15) hosting the first ever ‘Sexy Green Car Show,’ packed with beautiful green machines.
When eco-cars first hit the roads, many motor insurance companies charged steep premiums to insure these vehicles. But now they are catching on to the fact that drivers who take some responsibility for looking after our planet are also likely to be conscientious on the roads.
Lots of insurers therefore now offer discounts on their cover if you drive a car which is kind to the environment and BeatThatQuote.com can help you find some of the best available deals.
One motor insurer told us: "Green motoring is going to be a massive growth area for the car industry as petrol prices continue to rise and concern over global warming grows. We want to financially reward drivers who are taking steps to do their bit for the environment."
Sophie Neary, product director for BeatThatQuote.com said: "As cars such as the Prius become more mainstream, insurance for eco-cars will only become easier to obtain.
"More competition and cheaper premiums are on their way as these types of car become more common on our roads. BeatThatQuote is a good place to start if you want to do your bit for the environment while finding the cheapest car insurance deal."

Are You A Car Insurance Pinocchio?
You may think telling your insurance company a little white lie does no harm but the reality of this can be somewhat different. In a recent report carried out by Admiral it has been highlighted that in actuality you could find yourself without an insurance policy if you are caught out.
“What constitutes lying to my car insurance company?” you ask. Well, for starters, something as seemingly insignificant as reporting your annual mileage to be much less than it is can be seen as a “lie” by your insurance company. This could result in a price hike on your policy or even end in your insurance policy being cancelled. This may seem pedantic but as the report states; “An insurance policy is a legal contract so it is vital your honest”.
The most common details falsified by policy holders are details such as; motor convictions (i.e. speeding fines), previous claim history, modifications, etc. In researching information for this article, I came across a “lie” that quite surprised me. For many a new car driver, cheap car insurance can be quite elusive and as such they may resort to insuring a car in their parents name and add themselves as a named driver. You may think this is acceptable but it would appear this is not the case. It is viewed as fraud by the insurance companies, as you will be the main driver of the vehicle not you parents. In the event of a claim you may find the insurance company will not pay out if they are able to ascertain this fact.
Thousands of policies are cancelled every year by these companies when it is found out a policy holder has lied to them. Even the smallest falsification can lead to the policy being claimed invalid by the supplying company.
So, what can you do to prevent this from happening to you? For starters, make sure you inform the insurance company of any claims you have had in the past three years, even if you were not at fault. If you receive a motoring conviction part way through a policy term, you are still under obligation to inform the policy issuer, even though they may not impose a charge. If you are in any doubt over an issue that may affect your premium, you should seek advice form the insurance company. Another thing to be wary of is applying for insurance online. Ensure that any details you are not asked for are reported to the company by phone after getting your initial quote. An example of this might be if your car has received after market modifications, such as, engine tuning chips, body kit, etc.

Car Insurance - Premium Drop?
It was announced recently that the average cost of car insurance has dropped slightly heralding possible, further decreases this year. It was thought that we would continue to see a rise in the price of car insurance premiums this financial year, following the record highs at the end of last year.
The typical quoted premium given as reference last year by the AA’s British insurance premium index, was stated as £806, whereas this had dropped by £4 to £802 during the first quarter of 2007. This is still only marginally below the all time high.
During February, it was also announced that premiums were rising with young drivers and woman being targeted in particular. Drivers under the age of 25 will find it particularly hard to find cheap car insurance due to a rise of around 5.8% over the preceding 12 months.
Unfortunately opting for third party, fire and theft, a popular choice for those under 25, will prove to be equally as expensive, as this is earmarked for an upward progression throughout the proceeding year. This is thought to be due to the commonly quoted fact that these drivers are 5 times more likely to be involved in a car accident than a person of age 35 and over.
Don’t worry those of you unfortunate enough to be included in this category, many online insurance companies are currently offering special introductory rates for those of you willing to do a bit of searching. Another way of saving money on a car insurance policy is to check out the hidden extras you may be paying for. For example, most policies include optional extra legal protection and hire car option, which if not essential will produce a saving when taken off the policy. Also, don’t forget to check out the excess stated on the policy as a larger voluntary excess will reduce the premium price noticeably.
But still it must be taken as good news for the rest of us that at least there has been a drop on the price of the average car insurance policy. This is especially important after the recent budget announcement that many larger cars would see a noticeable increase in car tax prices.

When You Get The Renew Car Insurance Reminder Don't Put The Premium Money On A Horse
Renew Car Insurance
Bobby’s grip had tightened on the steering wheel. He couldn’t remember driving in such terrible conditions before. Visibility was awful, and to make matters worse, the renew car insurance sticker on the windscreen was bothering him.
The weather forecast hadn’t mentioned torrential rain. Fifteen minutes earlier, at 4 a.m., he had finished his twelve-hour shift at the mill and had run like a man demented through the driving rain to his car. Easing his way out through the factory gates, he changed the wiper speed to its highest. He smiled as he remembered his friend Tony calling this the ‘frantic’ speed. Frantic speed or not, the wipers couldn’t handle the flood gushing across the windscreen. He had to strain his eyes to see the white defining lines of the highway. The ‘renew car insurance’ reminder kept flashing in his mind. He was consoled by the thought that there was very little traffic around at that time of night and if he took it nice and easy he should be fine. His only concern was the humpback bridge at the creek.
Other worries suddenly entered his mind as he tried to concentrate on the white lines. Financial problems were never far away from his thoughts. He cringed as he recalled the ‘sure thing’ that Rudi had told him about. That damn horse fell at the first and eight hundred dollars went down the drain. He hadn’t told Marge. He had hidden the renew car insurance reminder from her. She had the two-year-old twins, Laurie and Jeannie, to worry about.
In the distance he could now just barely make out the arc lights on the bridge and as he always did, he eased off the accelerator. But, the car didn’t respond as it should. Something was badly wrong! He glanced down at the speedometer and his throat suddenly went dry as he realised that his speed was increasing and was rapidly approaching eighty miles per hour. He lifted his right foot off the accelerator and frantically pressed the brake but the speed was still increasing. His heart started to thump as he tried to slow the car down by changing gears and applying the hand brake. The car was now starting to wobble dangerously and he knew he was seconds away from a bad accident.
Then he saw the truck approaching fast and he knew that it was all over. He closed his eyes as the car collided head-on with the truck. He didn’t hear the usual crashing sound of metal on metal and he didn’t feel the pain of the serious injuries he had incurred. His last thoughts were about Marge, Little Laurie and Jeannie, and the renew car insurance reminder that he had neglected.
Then, in the distance, he heard a concerned voice asking ‘Bobby, Bobby what’s wrong?’ He felt a hand on his shoulder shaking him gently. He opened his eyes and through blurred vision he could make out the knotted pine ceiling of his bedroom that he and Marge had proudly erected. Relief oozed out of every pore as he turned and hugged his beloved wife.

Relief oozed out of every pore as he turned and hugged his beloved wife.

With busy streets all over the United States, and with people scrambling to get to work, get home, and save time, road accidents and car damage will inevitably occur. As more and more drivers think about their jobs, worry about their homes, and find themselves distracted by a thousand anxieties, they forget to protect their cars. Auto insurance is therefore needed, and should be available for reasonable prices in all states. In NJ (New Jersey), however, insurance can be expensive and difficult to come by. It may be difficult for you to obtain an auto free insurance NJ quote, or to procure insurance at all.
It can be easy to get a free insurance quote online, which you can study in order to understand the insurance policy being offered for your car. With careful research, however, you can get a free auto insurance NJ quote if you live within the area, or if you plan to do business there. In order to understand the contents of your auto free insurance NJ quote, and why you can have a hard time getting a free auto insurance NJ quote in the first place, you must understand how car insurance works.
Car insurance works on three principal levels. A car insurance policy will cover the insured party, or you, the driver and owner of the car. In some states, legal problems can arise because the owner and driver of the car are different people, making insurance claims confusing. It is now common practice for families to include the names of their children in a policy when the children reach legal driving age.
A car insurance policy will also cover the car itself. Should any damage be done to the car due to an accident, or if repairs need to be done, insurance claims can then be made. Lastly, a car insurance policy will also cover third parties, who may do damage to the car, or to whom the car and its owner may have done damage. In all cases, an insurance policy is purchased by paying a premium for a specified period of time.
The value of an insurance premium is calculated on the basis of various factors that come into play when vehicles, repairs, accidents, and drivers are concerned. Using statistical data, an insurance actuary will take into consideration factors that will impact the expected costs of insurance claims that a driver may make in the future. These can include the state of the car, its initial cost, and special safety features that are built into its design. Premiums are also calculated on the basis of the driver's profile and lifestyle, and the intended use of the car.
Premiums are often high in New Jersey, so do not be surprised to see a high price in your free auto insurance NJ quote. If you are a young woman, however, you may pay lower premiums than men who are of the same age as you. This is because fewer young women are on the road as drivers, and fewer young women are involved in vehicular accidents. Adult lady drivers, however, pay relatively the same amount as their male counterparts.
The number of road accidents in a given year can also increase the premium that you may have to pay as insurance holder. New Jersey has a relatively high rate of traffic and car-related accidents, so that some insurance companies hesitate to provide auto insurance in NJ. You will be lucky to get an auto free insurance NJ quote, so study it carefully.
As you study your free auto insurance NJ quote, take note of the policy coverage, especially where accidents occur. Does the policy cover liability insurance? If you incur any bodily injuries because of an automotive-related accident, will you be given medical care benefits? You must also take note of what kinds of accidents the car insurance policy will cover. Collision coverage is often optional, while comprehensive coverage will cover damage done to your car, such as theft, attempted theft, fire, vandalism, or any other damage excluding collision.
If you are interested in obtaining an auto free insurance NJ quote, do not be discouraged by the lack of insurance companies willing to offer insurance for drivers in, or driving through and in New Jersey. You also need not be discouraged by the high cost of insurance in NJ. You need only to do more research and find the policy that suits you, your needs, and your budget best.

Making the Most of Auto Insurance Quotes
Car insurance is highly important to our busy, rushed world. While you go about your daily business and engage in the daily grind, you would certainly want to rest assured that your car is well protected. You may also decide to look at auto insurance quotes to see what packages are available to you. In order to understand auto insurance quotes and how auto insurance can help you in different cases of emergency and need, you will need to understand how car insurance works.
Auto insurance can work on one or more of three levels of coverage. The insured party, or the person driving the car, is likely to be injured, or be the cause of injury, so money must be placed in store to protect him or her. The insured vehicle can also be damaged, or break down, so money must be invested in order to protect the vehicle and prepare it for repairs. Lastly, third parties to which the vehicle and its owner may cause harm, or that can cause harm to the vehicle and owner, also have to be covered.
When you examine auto insurance quotes, you will have to check each policy for its coverage. For instance, your vehicle can be insured against theft, damage by accident, and damage by fire, and all independently. This means that you may have to pay a higher premium for the auto insurance that you want to buy.
Premium charges are simply the collective term for the money that you put into auto insurance. The amount in premium that you have to pay will be determined by a variety of factors that affect transportation. Such factors will include the characteristics of the car, the extent of coverage of the auto insurance, the driver's lifestyle and profile, and the purpose for which the car is used. Each of these factors is examined in detail before auto insurance quotes are formulated for interested buyers.
For example, gender is a factor when premiums are calculated. Annually, women average fewer miles driven than do men, and by proportion, men have a higher rate of accident involvement. This is why insurance companies charge lower premiums for young women drivers, as compared with young male drivers. With age, however, premiums are generally the same.
Age and an existing driving record are also important factors to consider when premiums are calculated. Because teenagers have no previous driving record, they are more likely to have higher premiums, which can decrease if the young driver trains further. Rules are even laxer in the U.S.: students who perform well academically, or who live far from home, may be given higher discounts on their car insurance premiums.
As you examine various auto insurance quotes, keep in mind that the cost of paying premiums can have rewards, and is determined by various factors. However, you must also make sure that you get what you pay for. You can check this by examining the terms of insurance coverage while asking yourself specific questions. Will my car and I be insured? To what extent is third party involvement covered by the insurance? If one of my family members comes of driving age, should I add him or her to my policy?
You may also need to examine the terms of liability insurance when you review your auto insurance quotes. Some insurance companies may not protect a policy holder if he or she is driving a vehicle other than that which he or she owns. In such policies, the policy holder is covered by the policy that governs the vehicle he or she is driving. Liability coverage is also unavailable when car rentals are concerned, since rental vehicles have their own policies.
While studying auto insurance quotes, you will also need to look at what kinds of damage and accidents your premium will cover. Collision coverage is often optional, and comprehensive coverage covers accidents other than collision. Such accidents may include theft, attempted theft, vandalism, impact with an animal, or fire. You may also be offered roadside assistance coverage, or car towing coverage, which often covers towing that is done because of an accident, break down, or flat tires, among other things.

Understanding a Car Insurance On Line Quote
If you own a car, you may have been offered car insurance. Car insurance may seem unnecessary, but with today's busy, congested streets, as well as existing, binding laws that govern car drivers, you will need to buy and know the ins and outs of car insurance. In order to determine which car insurance package you should get, it may be easier for you to read and decipher a car insurance on line quote. On line quotes are convenient for businesspersons, as these quotes can be read from a computer even during office hours, saving time.
To understand a car insurance on line quote, you must know how car insurance works. In general, car insurance will operate on at least one of three levels of coverage. Car insurance will cover the insured party, which should be both the driver and owner of the car. Insurance will also cover the insured vehicle, supporting, though often independently, financial sustenance for events such as theft, accidents, or emergency repairs. Lastly, car insurance may also include third party coverage, whether the third party did damage to the vehicle, or was injured by the vehicle and its owner.
Before you are given a car insurance on line quote, various factors have to be assessed in order to calculate the premium you will have to pay. An insurance premium can be calculated on the basis of various factors, most of them based on statistical data. The premium you will have to pay will depend, on the whole, on how much the insurance company believes future claims will cost. This takes into account the characteristics of the car being insured, the insurance coverage you ask for, the driver's lifestyle and habits, and the car's purpose.
A car insurance on line quote will rarely list reasons for the high or low price of the insurance premium that has to be paid. In general, however, young lady drivers often pay lower premiums and surcharges than men their age, simply because men are, by proportion, involved in a greater degree of car accidents annually. Premium rates, however, are almost the same for both genders when adults are concerned. And, in general, young drivers, or those with no driving record, can often be charged higher insurance premiums; older drivers, on the other hand, can receive retirement discounts.

In general, car insurance packages in the United States are very specific on policy holders and exclusions, especially of family members. It is often necessary that a family member is added to a car insurance policy when he or she reaches legal driving age.
Legal complications can often ensue if a person drives a car that he or she does not own. This is especially true for liability insurance, which protects policy holders only if they are driving their own cars; otherwise, the person driving the car is covered by that car owner's policy. However, a non-owner policy is often offered to people who do not own their own cars, and the government may sometimes require it for drivers who have been involved and found to be at fault in previous car accidents.
You may also need to study your car insurance on line quote for liability coverage, which involves attaching a fixed amount of money that will cover damages that an insured party will be compelled to pay by law. For instance, if an insured driver drives into an electricity pole and damages it, liability coverage will pay for pole repairs, as well as for expenses related to the damage that was done, such as if surrounding houses went without electricity for days.
Several aspects of car insurance may need to be purchased separately. For instance, collision coverage will cover repairs for the damaged car, or payment of the vehicle's cost if it is beyond repair. Collision coverage, however, is optional. Comprehensive coverage, on the other hand, provides coverage for accidents and events other than collisions that can damage or destroy the car completely. This may include theft, fire, weather, or vandalism, among others.
If you are interested in buying car insurance, then ask for a car insurance on line quote from your local insurance provider.
